Hookah for Kali Puja and Diwali night in Kolkata

Short answer: Kali Puja and Diwali fall on Sunday 8 November 2026. Book your hookah a few days ahead and schedule the slot (4 pm to 8 pm or 8 pm to 12 am) in the cart, because Deliver now is slow that night. For 6 to 12 people, pick the Group (four chillums, two bases, ₹1,299) and add a host if you like (₹2,299); for a big gathering, the all-in Party. Keep the hookah well away from diyas and crackers, and keep photo ID ready (21+).

Kali Puja night is the biggest night of the year for adda at home in Kolkata. The roads are packed, every second terrace has crackers going, and family and friends stay up late. A hookah fits right in, as long as it arrives on time and sits somewhere safe. This is how we would plan it.

1. Book early and schedule the slot

On Kali Puja and Diwali the city slows down from the afternoon: pandal crowds, closed roads and traffic around every para. Deliver now on that evening can take a lot longer than usual.

  • Order a few days before, and in the cart choose Schedule your delivery with the date and slot. You can schedule up to 30 days ahead.
  • Pick the slot before your guests arrive: 4 pm to 8 pm for an evening adda, 8 pm to 12 am if people come after the puja.
  • Pay by UPI right after you order. We dispatch scheduled orders on time only once the payment has arrived.

2. Pick the size for the room

A hookah is shared, so you do not need one per person. For Kali Puja nights we suggest:

  • Just the family, 2 to 4 people: one chillum with our hookah base (from ₹549), or Duo (₹699) for two flavours.
  • 6 to 12 people: Group (₹1,299) or Group premium (₹1,499): four chillums on two bases, so the terrace and the living room each get one.
  • A big gathering: the Party (₹4,999): 4 hookah bases, our host for four hours and as many flavours as you like, mitti and silicone, Turkish included. The host packs up the same night.

Prices and fees are in our hookah on rent price guide.

3. Flavours for a festival night

Festival food is sweet and rich, so desi and mint flavours go down well after dinner. Meetha Paan and Elaichi Mint are the safest pair; 5 Paan for paan lovers; one fruit flavour such as Blueberry Blast for the younger crowd (21+ only). If some guests prefer no tobacco, add a herbal, nicotine-free flavour.

4. Keep it safe around diyas and crackers

This is the one night a year when a hookah sits near open flames and sparks, so a little care goes a long way:

  • Set the hookah on a steady, flat surface, away from diyas, candles, rangoli lamps and curtains.
  • Do not light crackers from the hookah coals, and keep the hookah off the terrace or balcony while crackers are going off there.
  • Keep children and pets away from the base and the hot chillum.
  • Smoke only at home or at a private gathering, never in a public place or pandal.

5. Have ID ready at the door

We deliver only to people 21 or older and check a photo ID at the door, every time, festival or not. If nobody at the door can show ID, we cannot hand over the kit.

6. Pickup the next day

We collect the kit the next day at a time that suits you. Party package: our host takes it back the same night. More on how this works in how hookah delivery works, and the full plan for a party in our house party checklist.
